Album of the Week – “What I Want For Christmas” by Russ Lorenson

1:53 pm by Kelly McCready

What I Want for ChristmasAs Thanksgiving approaches and families make their way to each other across the country, LML thought it would be fun to feature an album that features such a wonderfully family oriented album cover. It’s one of our favorites. What do you think?

This is What I Want for Christmas by Russ Lorenson, a fabulous cabaret Christmas album that is equal parts smooth and clever. Russ is a wonderful artist based in San Francisco, accomplished in musical theatre, cabaret, jazz and pop music. He is critically acclaimed and best known for his critically-acclaimed tribute to Tony Bennett in his show, “Benedetto/Blessed: Celebrating the Life and Music of Tony Bennett.”

“Lorenson is not just a crooner covering the traditional Sinatra style or trying to be the next Connick; he is his own man.” – Jazz Review

Here’s the track listing for What I Want for Christmas:

2 I Guess There Ain’t No Santa Claus
