About Albert Hague & Renee Orin…

Albert Hague and his wife, Renee Orin present an evening of songs, humor, gossip and a few poignant moments, revisiting the highlights of two illustrious careers in 'show biz'.

Albert is the composer of many Broadway musicals including "Plain and Fancy" & "Redhead" for which he received a Tony for the best score. "Redhead" is having a wonderfully successful revival at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam Conn. He recalls stories about such artists as Geaorge Abbott, Bob Fosse, Allan Sherman, Dorothy Fields etc. thus, the gossip.

For television, he wrote the songs for the well-known CBS Special, "How the Grinch Stole Chirstmas" in collaboration with Dr. Suess.

If Albert looks familiar, its because for 7 years he starred as Professor Shorofsky, the irascible, music teacher in the film and the internationally successful series, "Fame".

Renee started out performing in many Broadway plays and musicals, including "Finian's Rainbow", Neil Simon's "Plaza Suite", Tennessee Williams' "Slapsitck Tragedy", as well as "Plain and Fancy" and the revival of "Pal Joey". In regional theater she repeated her Broadway stint of "Plaza Suite" co-staring with Paul Lynde. She also co-starred with Jack Gilford in "Fiddler on the Roof" and played Gene Kelly's siter in "Take Me Along".

When the Hague's relocated to the West coast because of Albert's work on "Fame", Renee played on some TV shows such as "Chicago Hope", "Charlie and Co.", "Divorce Court" and opposite her husband on "Fame" but besides this, she launched a busy writing career. She sold a number of screen plays, one to Warner's, another to Cinesource, as well as scripts for "Facts of Life" and "Fame".

Some years ago, Hague & Hague, His Hits and His Missus (as it was called then) was named one of the 5 best cabaret acts of the year in the LA Daily News.

Last year the Hagues performed the Cabaret Convention, honoring Mabel Mercer at Town Hall. This year they have already had a wonderful week at The Cinegrill athe Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel and got raves when they appeared at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center.

Albert did a cameo in Space Jam with Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny. In Dec. he will shoot another film, "The Story of Us" starring Bruce Willis and Michel Pfeiffer directed by Rob Reiner.

The Hagues have two wonderful grown-ups, Janet and Andy. They live in Southern California.
