About Michael Londra

Early in 1990, Michael Londra decided to follow his heart and take to the stage. In Ireland word of Michael's talent as a singer spread quickly and soon he was offered the title role in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat"in Dublin. He performed in roles like Pish Tush in "Hot Mikado", Charlie in "Brigadoon" and Joe in "Some Like It Hot" which received rave reviews and got Michael his first acting award at the Waterford International Festival of Light Opera. He performed the title role in the concert version of "Martin Guerre" at the National Concert Hall. In 1997,he was selected by acclaimed theater director/choreographer Larry Fuller to play Bobby Kennedy in the world premier of "JFK" where he was noticed by the producers of Riverdance. He was offered the role of lead singer in the US National Tour which included performances at Radio City Music Hall and the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.In March 2000, Michael again was offered the position of lead singer in the new production of Riverdance on Broadway, taking the role from acclaimed Irish singer Brian Kennedy. This show featured duets with Tony nominees Tsidii La Loka of "The Lion King" and Michel Bell of "Showboat" as well as new musical compositions by Bill Whelan.Since leaving Riverdance Michael has turned his attention to recording and pursuing other projects.He is the creator and director of Radiocelt.com which is part of the Accuradio network(one of the top ten internet radio stations in the world)He has now returned to singing fulltime to promote his new cd CELT . With big sales particularly in South Korea where CELT hit the pop charts Michael will be touring for the next year across Europe and Asia.He is ambassador for Concern Worldwide highlighting conditions in the poorest countries around the world.Last year on returning from a trip to Haiti, Michael released a cd with 100% of funds going directly to Concern. www.concernusa.org He has since released a Christmas CD for the organisation.His current recording was produced by acclaimed producer Steve Skinner who coproduced the Grammy nominated soundtrack of RENT.He has worked as an arranger / co producer for Bette Midler and Celine Dion and has collaborated many times with Arif Mardin ,producer of Norah Jones acclaimed cd.
