About I’ve Gotta Get Back To New York…

At last! Fans of popular Broadway and nightclub vet Teri Ralston have been awaiting a CD that showcases her formidable singing talent. Despite a career that has spanned theater, concert hall recitals, cabaret and TV performances, Ms . Ralston has never created an album of her own…till now! “I’ve Gotta Get Back to New York” captures Teri in a live performance in a Manhattan club, presenting songs that have played a part in her legendary career, along with some personal favorites. The album also showcases Teri’s storytelling abilities, as she illuminates each selection with delightful tales of its “back story”. Teri is supported by her long-time Musical Director, popular accompanist and songwriter Shelley Markham. The extraordinary Pam Myers, who—like Teri—made her Broadway debut in COMPANY, makes a memorable guest appearance. This CD provides the listener with a ring-side seat to a magical evening in New York.

Praise for I’ve Gotta Get Back To New York…

  • “Teri Ralston was one of the original principals in COMPANY. She had then, and still has, an open, all-American, optimism. She is the quintessential cheerleader with a glorious soprano voice and acting chops. What makes this CD unique is not only the variety of selections, but also the often hilarious anecdotes interpolated between the songs and there’s an audience in attendance to urge her on. Among my favorites is ‘Colored Lights’, ‘Lost in His Arms’ (simply a great song, and done justice by Teri), the COMPANY medley, of course, and ‘Losing My Mind’ from FOLLIES. In the middle of the show, she invites Pam Myers, another COMPANY graduate, to sing ‘Another Hundred People’, the song that Steve Sondheim wrote for her. Actually, it’s a party – and you’re invited.”
