About Patty Morabito
Patty exploded onto the Chicago Cabaret scene directly from New York City, armed with a solid theatrical background and a "golden throat" (Chicago Tribune). She has quickly become a familiar face at venues such as TOULOUSE ON THE PARK, POPS FOR CHAMPAGNE, THE ROYAL GEORGE CABARET, THE MERCURY THEATRE, PHILANDERS, VOLTAIRE, THE GENTRY, and EIGHTY-EIGHTS (nyc). Some might recognize her as part of the singing group 3GIRLS3, who were featured in "THE BEST OF (cabaret)" series in Chicago Magazine 2000. They have been active in the cabaret scene performing their critically acclaimed cabaret shows around the country. For more information, checkout 3GIRLS3.com.
Patty is a 1998 Eugene O'Neill Cabaret Symposium graduate selected from an extensive nationwide search. She was a featured soloist in the Chicago Humanities Festival (2000 & 2001 and Nov 2, 2002!) in the Songwriters Now with people such as David Freidman, Babbie Green, Carol Hall, Stephen Schwartz, Craig Carnelia, and Julie Gold. Patty participated in the Cabaret on the Record series that had its Chicago debut (May 2001) with such performers as Karen Mason and Spider Saloff. She performed at the First Annual Chicago Cabaret Convention in March 2002 held at the Park West and will participate in the NYC Mabel Mercer Cabaret Convention October 22, 2002 at the TOWN HALL.
Patty both performed in and directed the Alternative Songwriter Series at DAVENPORTS to critical acclaim. The shows GRAPEFRUIT MOON, the music of Tom Waits and NAKED, the music of Leonard Cohen ran for an overwhelming 9 month period! Look for the next songwriter in the series, LAURA NYRO, in the spring 2003.
Patty is thrilled to announce the release of her debut CD, The Delicate Hour. It is available online at LMLMusic.com, PattyMorabito.com, and DAVENPORTS CABARET in Chicago, Illinois. Look for it in the stores January 2003.
