IN GOOD COMPANY [Revisited] – “Stay The Night” with Stacy Sullivan

10 years ago, I embarked on a life-changing artistic endeavor to celebrate the 10th anniversary of my LML Music record label. Under the supreme musical direction of  Johnny Rodgers and his amazing band we invited 17 brilliant vocalists to join me in the studio to create “In Good Company”. It’s hard to believe that 10 years have passed and even harder to imagine that LML Music has been around for 20 years! To celebrate all of the above, I am going to share one track each week which I hope you will enjoy.

“Stay The Night” with Stacy Sullivan

I became a huge fan of this song after hearing Jane Oliver’s version when I was in college.  I knew that Stacy Sullivan’s voice would bring a sultry, smokey, deliciousness to the duet and the fact that she’s one of my all-time favorite souls on the planet didn’t hurt either!  Thank you Brian Lane Green for the inspired arrangement!

“Bring Back Romance” with Ann Hampton Callaway

Ann has probably had the biggest influence on my vocal expression. Just listening to her resonate the most glorious of sounds is a master class in song interpretation. We first met in 1992 and i have had the great joy of watching her career rise like a comet and through it all she has remained one of the kindest, warmest and dearest friends one could hope for. What an honor it was to record one of her originals!

“Open Arms” with Brian Lane Green

Brian is one of my dearest friends and we have been harmonizing together for years.  He was the very first artist that I signed to the LML Music label and we have enjoyed touring the world with our “3 Men and a Baby…Grand!” concert.   Singing with Brian always challenges me to be better than I thought possible – his unique sound and artistry is one of a kind.
